I started at Champion gymnastics back in 1996 at the age of 9. I retired from gymnastics as a level 6 gymnast at 14. I made my comeback to the sport a year before my daughter joined the team here at champion. I’ve competed in several USAG meets as an Xcel platinum gymnast this year and last year finding my way back into the gymnastics community.
After high school, I enlisted in the US Marines and learned even more about motivation, hard work and intensity. After a medical discharge due to injury, I found my way into the university of Louisville graduating with a degree in coaching and development.
I’ve since gone on to manage multiple businesses over my professional career and I currently work full time as a store manager for LensCrafters. I enjoy opticianry and all things vision related and am a certified optician. I also maintain my lifeguarding certifications earning the title “mermaid” with my family and friends.
I began my coaching career as the adult gymnastics coach at River City Turners for a year and then began coaching Xcel for RCT the following year. I am so excited to expand the Xcel program here at Champion and show the kids who want to compete in gymnastics without the major time commitments of JO that they can have fun and have amazing skills and a good competition experience without sacrificing other activities or academic pursuits outside of the gym. I want to show them that they can “do it all”!
