Toshia wins Silver Medal on Vault with a 9.925 at the 2023 National Championships

Toshia wins silver on vault with an incredible 9.925 at the 2023 National Championships!!

“Never quit. It is the easiest cop-out in the world. Set a goal and don’t quit until you attain it. When you do attain it, set another goal, and don’t quit until you reach it. Never quit.”

Toshia Halsell, came to her 3rd nationals with several goals:

1️⃣Compete a Yurchenko 1.5 on Vault!

2️⃣Compete her Aerial on beam!

3️⃣Finally catch her jagear at Nationals!

4️⃣Show out on Floor!

Not only did she meet her goals but she rocked her vault – sticking 3 of the 4 yurchenko 1.5s she performed while here. It placed her 2nd 🥈in the country in her SR F age group and ranked her 4th out of all age groups combined with a whopping 9.925!

She soared on bars matching her career high with a 9.75 medalling in 8th 🏅.

Floor she had a bit too much power on her last pass but still managed 11th with a 9.525.

She competed her aerial and fell though rocked it in warm-up.

If all of that wasn’t enough her SR F Dream Team walked away as National Champions with the highest Vault Team score of the weekend! 🏆

Despite, however, all of what she achieved this weekend it’s been the woman that she’s become in the process that has been the most rewarding to watch – medals & records are nice – but being a strong, confident, young woman with a genuine sense of humor is the true victory – Towson Gymnastics you got a good one!
